Many Japanese enjoy Halloween recently, however, most of them just enjoy costume play on the day. There is no religious meaning for most of Japanese.
I've had sore muscles because I enjoyed badminton in the afternoon of last Sunday. I belong to a badminton team which members consist of PTA. Every Sunday we practice and play some game but I had stopped playing badminton because I hurt my elbow. Now my elbow seems to be OK...
In the morning of last Sunday, I went to Expo'70 Memorial Park in order to take some photos for the photo quest. I know it's the best season for COSMOS.
Anyway, I took photos of cosmos in the morning, played badminton in the afternoon and had two drinking parties at night of the Sunday. I had a very sleepy day on Monday :D
OK...my entry for "Out of Focus" is as follows:
Fall in Japan is a season for athletic festivals. I selected my photos taken on Oct. 11 because it's a little earlier for autumn leaves. We may have it in November this year. Anyway, taking dynamic photos of people's activities becomes good lesson :)
I almost forgot to entry my try to this week's photo quest. Actually it isn't my life but all the photos were taken on September 27, 2009 when I visited my parents' house in Nara pref. with my family. You can see some flowers in my photo that my mom grew in her garden.
My mom is a master of the Japanese tea ceremony and my daughter is her student. My mom taught my daughter how to serve Matcha in simple process to guests as a host this time. I will ask my daughter to serve me good Matcha this weekend :)
It was five days continuous holiday for most of Japanese this year. I went to my partner's parents' house with my family and we got back home two hours ago. It was eleven hours drive for return trip of today. Anyway, I've just got three B&W photos generated with iPhoto'09.

I asked my partner to drive our car as I wanted to take photos for the photo quest. All the photos were taken with my Ricoh GR Digital2 and are original ones. We went to mountain side of our city to look for things of fall. I'll post some autumn shots later, though it's a little early for real autumn.
You can see a black circle at upper left side of these photos. It should be a dust on the CCD, eeeee. I tried blowing with a blower and shaking my camera but I wasn't able to remove the dust... Fortunately, it's in the period of manufacturer's warranty. I went to Ricoh service center in Osaka yesterday and asked them to fix it.
Now I have my GRD2 in my hands. According to a service person of Ricoh, he changed optical unit and CCD and set new ones to my camera. It must cost over JPY20,000.- or USD220.- for the repair! I'm so lucky as it was a trouble in one year warranty :) I'll extend a warranty for five years next time when I purchase new compact camera, maybe Ricoh GR Digital4.
I have the following lenses for my PENTAX K200D:

TAMRON SP AF90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 (Model 272E)
Namely, I have four telephoto lenses out of five because focal length in 35mm format becomes 1.5 times for K200D. I selected kids photos for photo quest of this week with my favorite lens of TAMRON 272E.

Fortunately, my son recovered his good health after the fever of one night.
I selected "Tower of the Sun" for this week's photo quest :) Some of you may remember Expo'70 held in Osaka in 1970. The Tower of the Sun is the symbol of the Expo created by Taro Okamoto.

Rain season, we call it Tsuyu 梅雨 in Japanese, is going to over here in Osaka. We have some rainy, cloudy and sunny days recently. Right after rain season we will have long sunny, hot and sweaty summer. I really miss blue and clear sky with cumulonimbi. Anyway, let's go for Osaka and Kobe weather this week.

They are all my friends. We set DJ booth at the beach and enjoyed good music, alcohol and sea bathing :)

Just before getting BAR LOVE:S at 18:44 on July 21, 2009: Ricoh GRD2 (Program AE / f/4.0, 1/200, ISO80 / -0.3EV)
You can find the nameboard "BAR LOVE:S" in left side. It was cloudy.
Just after leaving BAR LOVE:S at 19:30 on July 21, 2009: Ricoh GRD2 (Program AE / f/2.4, 0.3, ISO80 / -0.3EV)
My stay at BAR LOVE:S was 46min. because I liked to take photo of sky for the photo quest. It was still cloudy but sky changed it color in blue. We had a heavy rain in the night.
A partial eclipse of the sun at 11:12 on July 22, 2009: Ricoh GRD2 (Program AE / f/6.3, 1/640, ISO80 / -0.3EV)
This is the main dish for the photo quest. I enjoyed a partial eclipse of the sun today. It was heavy cloudy and sometimes rainy but, fortunately, I was able to enjoy the natural phenomenon through cloud with the naked eye! Wow!
Through the period of this photo quest, I learned "patience" and "one more shot."
As you know, it's one of my practices for me to write posts in English. I highly appreciated it if you correct my wrong English :) Anyway, I didn't know what scavenger means by. After checking it with my English-Japanese dictionary, I know its meaning and what "scavenger hunt" is. OK, my photos for the scavenger hunt are as follows:
1. Something that is old and means something to you:
2. Something that no one knows I have:
3. Something I like to eat:
4. Something hot:
5. Something wet:
