I had a chance to visit Kyoto yesterday. I was looking forward to seeing cherry blossoms as it was the best timing for it. Though it was rainy, I enjoyed beautiful flowers, Kyoto view and taking photos in the rain. Taking photos with having my umbrella was sooooo difficult!
I went to Sakuya Konohana Kan, a botanical garden with my family several weeks ago. The botanical garden has the largest greenhouse in Japan. My family except for me went through the greenhouse at normal pace but I, with my digital cameras, wasn't able to move quickly. I enjoyed beautiful flowers, taking many photos there and kept my family waited for me at the exit (;^^).

I'm not too sure, but your PC can indicate Japanese Kanji character on the display. Well, camellia is called "TSUBAKI" in Japanese. Its Kanji character is "椿", which is divided into two parts: left part "木" means "wood" and right part "春" means "spring."
Katsuragi city in Nara pref. is a typical bedroom suburb of Osaka. I grew up there with my parents until I became an university student. I looked up Mt. Katsuragi almost everyday.
The name of Katsuragi is based on "Katsuragi clan" who governed there in fifth century.
